Support Us

Dance can transform the way we see the world. It can inspire, entertain and empower. Dance can enliven our cities, raise aspirations and bring people together across cultural divides. At times like these we need dance more than ever.

For almost 25 years, DanceXchange has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of dance in the Midlands, connecting people with great dance, nurturing young dancers and championing some of the UK’s best artistic talent. We’re passionate about dance and we want everyone to enjoy the positive transformations it creates.

But for dance to continue to flourish here in the Midlands, it’s vital that we support a diverse new generation of artists to build their careers, equipping them to make work that’s exciting and relevant to our young and diverse audiences.

Individual Giving Campaign

We have created an annual Choreography Award – a tailored package of support for talented Midlands-based artists at an early stage in their choreographic careers. It is designed to broaden the diversity of artists we are able to support, and will help up to 8 artists a year to make work, refine their craft and learn the business of dance.     For more about the Choreography Award, and current recipients go here

It costs us £23,000 every year to support 8 artists. As a registered charity we rely on the generous support of our funders and people like you to continue our work – so every pound you give today will help, and a regular donation would make a real difference.

By investing in our Choreography Award today, you can help dance to flourish here in the Midlands, benefiting thousands of people over many years to come.

Here’s where your donation could help:

  • £20 gives an artist 4 professional-level classes with experienced tutors
  • £60 supports an artist with 3 hours of mentoring and advice, tailored to their needs
  • £120 provides an artist with 2 days of creation and rehearsal time in our dance studios
  • £350 gives an artist 1 day of production time in our fully equipped theatre space
  • £500 enables us to provide an Artist Bursary Award
  • £1000+ helps to fund a new commission, investing in an artist to make new work

If you support us youll be named on our website and will receive updates about the artists chosen to receive the Choreography Award – so you can learn how they have benefitted from your support. Supporters donating £350+ will be invited to meet an artist and see a rehearsal or sharing of their new work.    Our first ten supporters donating £1000+ or setting up annual donations of £350+ will receive special recognition as Founder Members.
