Robert Hemming is a Dutch- British dance artist based in the West-Midlands. He started dancing at the age of twelve at ArtEZ Prevocational Dance in The Netherlands where he studied ballet, contemporary dance and Eastern European folk dance. During this training Robert worked with a variety of choreographers and toured theatre and site specific work around The Netherlands by choreographers such as Nils Christe, Adriaan Luteijn, Stefan Ernst- Project Sally, Andrew Greenwood and Samir Calixto. Robert continued his studies at London Contemporary Dance School in London where he received a BA(Hons) degree in contemporary dance. His time at London Contemporary Dance School allowed Robert to work with dance artists including: Richard Alston Dance Company, Hofesh Shechter Company, Renaud Wiser, Hannes Langolf and Marso Riviere. Robert is currently active as a freelance dance artist through teaching, performing and creating work in the UK and mainland Europe. As a teacher Robert has worked for organisations including The Place – Recreational and Prevocational Dance in London and ArtEZ Prevocational Dance Department in Venlo, The Netherlands.
