I sit on the DanceXchange Senior Management Team, working with the Artistic Director and Strategic Director on the strategic development and management of the organisation. My key areas of responsibility are HR, Marketing, Fundraising and International Dance Festival Birmingham.
My background is in visual arts, and I have a foundation course in Art and Design, a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, and an MA with Distinction in Art Theory at Warwick University.
Following university, I worked in administration, finance and business development in the commercial sector for a number of years, including three years at Guardian Newspapers in London, working across two publications, Guardian Weekly and Money Observer.
Aiming to use my business management experience to benefit the arts, in 2002 I combined work with an Arts Management course at Birkbeck College in London, and subsequently moved to Birmingham in 2003 to take up a position at DanceXchange.
I’ve been pleased to play a key role in the organisation’s significant growth over many years, and to take on the new and interesting challenges this has offered me – particularly in the development of International Dance Festival Birmingham.
