Alexandra Henwood

The purpose of my role is to oversee the learning and participation programmes at DanceXchange including the Centre for Advanced Dance Training (CAT), Generate, Class Programme, DX Summer School and U.Dance WM.

I began dancing at the age of 3 at my family owned dance school and my passion for dance has been growing ever since. I gained a BA (hons) Dance Studies at Middlesex University, London and then joined DanceXchange in 2015 for Birmingham International Dance Festival (BIDF) as Performance Intern before progressing to Programme Coordinator (Performance and Artist Development). I have worked at other dance festivals including Dance Umbrella, More! Dance and MY Dance Festival. My current role allows me to experience how dance transforms people’s lives and enable this process for many talented individuals across the region.
