We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Participation Producer to join our Festival team, to help deliver our vision for Birmingham International Dance Festival (BIDF) in 2020.
From 5-21 June 2020, BIDF will take over the city’s theatres, streets and squares with show-stopping performances and great choreography, enlivening the city, inspiring audiences, and creating lots of opportunities for people to take part. Birmingham International Dance Festival is an award-winning biennial celebration of dance and one of Europe’s largest dance festivals.
The Participation Producer will manage the festival’s substantial participatory programme, with a particular focus on delivering a major youth dance event to open the festival square, in collaboration with partner networks across the five sub-regions of the West Midlands, and co-producing a series of events in community settings across the city.
We are seeking applications from producers with extensive experience of partnership working in youth and community settings, and a proven track record of developing, producing and managing large-scale participatory dance performances and events, ideally in outdoor locations. You will need excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; highly developed organisational and administration skills; strong budget management skills; the ability to work effectively under pressure; and a collaborative, proactive, positive and self-motivated approach.
