Festival Producer

We are looking for a motivated and energetic Producer to join our Festival team, to help deliver our vision for Birmingham International Dance Festival (BIDF) in 2020.

From 5-21 June 2020, BIDF will take over the city’s theatres, streets and squares with show-stopping performances and great choreography, enlivening the city, inspiring audiences, and creating lots of opportunities for people to take part.  Birmingham International Dance Festival is an award-winning biennial celebration of dance and one of Europe’s largest dance festivals.  See above for the BIDF 2018 highlights film.

The Producer will have a particular responsibility for the festival’s substantial outdoor programme in Birmingham city centre, and a range of outdoor and site-specific events at other locations across the city.

We are seeking applications from producers with a good knowledge of the performing arts and a proven track record of producing and managing contemporary performance and events in a range of settings, including outdoor spaces and non-theatre indoor spaces at a range of scales.  You will need excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; highly developed organisational and administration skills; strong budget management skills; the ability to work effectively under pressure; and a collaborative, proactive, positive and self-motivated approach.
