This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role for the International Dance Festival 2016, working with the Strategic Director to manage and deliver IDFB’s first festival Hub.
International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) is a major biennial festival produced by DanceXchange (dx) and supported by Birmingham Hippodrome. Animating the city and capturing the imagination, IDFB brings a remarkable line-up of outstanding dance to theatres, streets and public spaces across Birmingham and the West Midlands and creates a wealth of engaging participatory activity for people of all ages.
This is the first time the Festival has had a dedicated Hub. Located in the Municipal Bank Building, it will be a high profile element designed to welcome artists, audiences and participants and to host a series of events reaching a wide range of stakeholders. In addition, the Hub will include a visual arts exhibition by Japanese artist, Shun Ito.
The Festival Hub Manager will be responsible for working with members of the wider dx/IDFB teams and other partners to set up and dress the building, install and invigilate the Shun Ito exhibition, manage the Hub on a day to day basis and programme and manage a series of events. You will also need to liaise with catering and technical suppliers.
We are looking for an experienced events manager who has excellent planning skills to handle the logistics of setting up spaces alongside the management of performers, speakers and visitors/audiences.
