DanceXchange is seeking a number of people to be the welcoming and professional face of dx for all our customers in classes and studios and join our team of Customer & Administration Assistants.
Based in the centre of Birmingham, with some of the best dance facilities in the UK, DanceXchange creates exciting opportunities for people of all walks of life to engage in dance, as participants, performers and audience members. We also co-produce International Dance Festival Birmingham, one of the largest dance festivals in the world.
The CAA role is a good opportunity to gain experience of work in a busy arts organisation. It involves carrying out administrative and front of house duties to support all aspects of DanceXchange’s work, including providing excellent customer service, overseeing the safe and effective running of our recreational dance class programme, and advocating for our programme of work.
CAA shifts are usually weekday evenings 5.30pm-9.30pm and Saturdays 8.45pm-4.45pm, to cover our class programme and studio hires. CAAs also undertake a range of other ad hoc shifts at different times, particularly during International Dance Festival Birmingham. There are also opportunities to help with different admin jobs as they arise.
Applicants must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, strong administration skills, good attention to detail and the ability to develop good relationships with a broad range of people, including adult and child class attendees, artists, tutors and partners. You must have a professional and proactive approach and an enthusiasm for dance.
