What it means to be British
This performance will take place at Birmingham School of Art
In May 2018, a group of artists went out on to the streets of Birmingham to discuss Brexit and what it means to be British in a city that voted almost 50/50 in the Brexit vote.
This brand new commissioned work is directed by choreographer Gary Clarke, last seen at DanceXchange with the critically acclaimed COAL which explored the experience of miners in the 1980 strike era.
This Is An Island?, invites you to experience a no holds barred version of Brexit through the eyes of Birmingham residents. Interviews, comments, actions and views are transformed into a thought-provoking and exciting multi-sensory journey.
Featuring live performance, spoken word, and dance and from UK and Birmingham based artists.
