Join Avant Garde Dance Company for professional class this Thursday 20 Oct, 10 – 11.30am where you will be exploring the dynamic and intricate repertoire from the critically acclaimed production Fagin’s Twist (performances at the Patrick Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome on Thurs 20 and Fri 21 Oct). Combining hip hop and contemporary dance vocabulary you will learn character based movement and develop musicality with cast members as this class challenges your body and mind to create new forms of expression.

Lisa was born in England and raised in Scotland. She began her professional dance training at Edinburgh’s Telford College before continuing at London Contemporary Dance School where in 2005 she completed a BA Hons in Contemporary Dance. Since leaving LCDS Lisa has worked with various companies and choreographers both nationally and internationally.
Lisa has performed with Rosie Kay Dance Company, The Generating Company, Ffin Dance, Ijad Dance Company, Arthur Pita, Sheron Wrey, Smallpetitklein, Rachel Lopez De La Nieta and Ben Ash. More recently was Assistant Choreographer for The Generating Company and Ffin Dance. For Avant Garde Dance her valuable contribution has been varied from performer to assistant choreographer, rehearsal director and assistant producer on the recent Black Album tour. Lisa is currently starring as Nancy in Fagin’s Twist.
Dani is a young, yet experienced dancer and choreographer based in South London. He graduated in 2013 from University of East London – studying Dance: Urban Practice. His passion is to express his appreciation for previous and current pop cultures in dance (specifically hip-hop dance). A product of the Avant Garde Dance Youth Company since 2009, Dani has established himself as a core member of the senior company, being apart of ‘The Black Album’ cast that toured domestically and internationally and is currently a main cast member in Fagin’s Twist as Bill Skyes.
As a creative, he is an artistic director of #PPL Dance Company. Formed in 2011 with Sia Gbamoi where he explores the fusion of street and contemporary dance delivering energetic, powerful and emotionally moving solos, duets and group pieces. Dani regularly travels around the UK to teach, train, and mentor young and aspiring dancers.
