The Big Idea 18
The Big Idea strand presents an opportunity for artists to push their practice, making work that will surprise, excite and entertain, that can be adapted to different spaces and that builds audiences. It also raises artists’ profile and opens up the potential for future touring. Since our first festival in 2008, we have worked to achieve a breadth, scale and reach that extends beyond a traditional dance and theatre audience to the broadest possible public.
IDFB theme for 2018 will look to the Future – diverse, imaginative, technologically advanced and colourfully optimistic. IDFB is particularly interested in work which challenges traditions of dance as well as work which crosses movement based and dance disciplines. As well as high impact, entertaining and accessible work to 100+ people per performance.
