Fees and Means Tested Grants

The grants will be means tested. The full amount will be £3,577 a year from September 2010. You will not have to make a contribution if your total family income before tax is £29,340 or less (after deducting £1,830 for each dependent child in the family,including the grant holder) in the tax year ending 5th April 2011. If your family income is more you will receive a smaller grant and you will have to make a contribution as shown below.

Student Training Bursaries

As part of the programme, each student is required to attend regular dance classes outside of their CAT training. Each student is entitled to a bursary to be paid for the additional home-based classes per week.
Students will be expected to fill in a claim form, and supply receipts in order to claim the bursary. 

Additional Assistance

Where a student is in receipt of a full Music and Dance Scheme (MDS) grant they may apply for additional assistance with travel costs and the purchase of dancewear. To apply for assistance a student or their parent should contact the Programme Manager who will provide them with the appropriate request form.

We are a registered charity and receive core funding from Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council. We rely on income from a wide range of trusts, foundations and private sources to deliver our projects.

We are keen to maintain our theatre and studios to the highest standard and to further our commitment to participation, access and artistic excellence. In order to do so, financial assistance from individuals, private sources and business is vital.
