DanceXchange is an official Arts Award Welcome centre.
Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification that supports young people aged from 11 to 25 to develop as artists and arts professionals. The scheme is run by Trinity College London, supported by Arts Council England.
Through Arts Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, young people aged 11-25 can explore any of the art forms including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and prepares them for further education or employment.
DanceXchange is pleased to offer opportunities to Arts Award participants in the following areas:
Discounted rates on dance classes (a £3.50 rate per class, normally £4 per class)
Discounted ticket offers for dx performances in The Patrick Centre. Many of these performances will have post show talks which are an ideal opportunity to ask questions of the performers and learn more about how a show is put together. N.B. please note this offer is subject to the programme at DanceXchange.
Staff from DanceXchange can meet with young people to chat about careers in the arts.
For more information on any of these offers at dx please contact Kate Jackson For more information on Arts Award go to www.artsaward.org.uk

At DanceXchange our aim is to bring dance to more people in Birmingham and the West Midlands region, through performances, productions, classes and community outreach.
As we look to our long term future, we want to continue this work and we want to keep dance alive in the region. As a registered charity, we receive core funding from Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council, along with a range of trusts and foundations.
But we also need support from individuals and businesses to make this happen. By supporting DanceXchange, you will help us fulfil our core objectives: to produce exceptional work; to bring outstanding performances to Birmingham; and to enable people of all walks of life to engage in dance either as a participant, performer or audience member.
