We’re celebrating! 10 years of dx at Birmingham Hippodrome

News We’re celebrating! 10 years of dx at Birmingham Hippodrome

4th August 2011

2011 is a really important year for DanceXchange, as it's ten years since we moved into the Birmingham Hippodrome complex. Over the last decade we’ve hosted hundreds of performances and supported the production of over 50 major touring works by artists such as Hofesh Shechter, Akram Khan, Jasmin Vardimon, Rafael Bonachela and Stan Won’t Dance.

We’ve made regular improvements to our studio theatre, The Patrick Centre, including recently a new PA system and updated lighting, and the venue is regarded as one of the most important spaces for dance in the UK.

So to celebrate we are presenting a special anniversary season of performances featuring work by companies who have performed with us over the last decade, as well as some of the best new names in the dance world.

Highlights include Hofesh Shechter Company, 2faced Dance Company, TAO Dance Theatre and our very own Bare Bones. Tickets are just £10/£7 if you book in advance – and this year we’ve introduced a special season offer. Book for 3+ shows at once, get 20% off, and book for 5+ shows at once and get an amazing 50% off! That means you could come to all 10 shows in the season for just £50!*

*(Valid for in advance ticket prices only. Offer only available via telephone booking or in person, not online. Offer available for all dx shows 22 Sept - 9 Dec. This offer is not retrospective)

At DanceXchange our aim is to bring dance to more people in Birmingham and the West Midlands region, through performances, productions, classes and community outreach.

As we look to our long term future, we want to continue this work and we want to keep dance alive in the region. As a registered charity, we receive core funding from Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council, along with a range of trusts and foundations.

But we also need support from individuals and businesses to make this happen. By supporting DanceXchange, you will help us fulfil our core objectives: to produce exceptional work; to bring outstanding performances to Birmingham; and to enable people of all walks of life to engage in dance either as a participant, performer or audience member.
