(In)visible Dancing returns to the streets in Coventry

(In)visible Dancing has been recreated on the streets of Coventry to mark the start of Olympic football in the city.
(In)visible Dancing premiered on the streets of Birmingham at International Dance Festival 2010 to great acclaim and popularity, and this week has seen (In)visible Dancing recreated especially for the streets of Coventry to celebrate the start of the Olympic Football in the city, as part of London 2012.
Since Wednesday the company have been performing twice a day, including a street workshop after the show to teach people a routine that they can perform during the (In)visible Dancing finale on Saturday at 3pm. The show has been a hit so far, as you can see in these pictures from Thursday's performance. Saturday's finale is the culmination of the 2012 tour, which has seen the show performed in Dublin, Doncaster, Kingston-upon-Thames and Southend.

A concept by David Massingham, Artistic Director of DanceXchange and Co-artistic Director of IDFB, David invited Luca Silvestrini to develop (In)visible Dancing with him for IDFB 2010. Each (In)visible Dancing event follows the same approach but is unique in its location, its artistic content and its timetable being tailored by Luca Silvestrini.
(In)visible Dancing is part of Dancing for the Games, which is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, and is funded by Legacy Trust UK and Arts Council England. Supported by Coventry University and Co-produced by DanceXchange.
