News Home - performance opportunities

25th January 2012

Directed by Andy Brunskill, Home is a bold, inventive new dance production that will move through the streets of Birmingham city centre. We are looking for 1000 individuals from across the West Midlands to contribute towards the creation and be involved in the performances (23 April – 13 May 2012).

What are we looking for?
We are collecting creative contributions in any art-form from individuals, friends, families, work colleagues, community groups, and professional artists – anyone who would like to share their thoughts of home and be a part of this flagship festival project.

If you could sum up what home means to you, how would it look? What would it say? How would it sound? What would it do? How would it move? When you think of home what do you see, hear, taste, smell and feel? Is it about feeling like you belong, having a sense of identity, or being part of a community?

Everyone who contributes to Home has the opportunity to be invited to take part in live performances. The final performance will use individual doormats to build up a giant shifting mosaic that will move through the centre of Birmingham.

You can read more about the creative process of Home on the blog.
