News Congratulations to Protein

25th January 2012

DanceXchange Associate Artist Luca Silvestrini's company Protein won the Best Independent Company Award at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards in London this week.

Luca Silvestrini was present to receive the award on behalf of Protein from the Guardian's Chief Critic, Judith Mackrell.  Luca said, "I'm excited and overwhelmed!  There's a lot of time and risk involved in putting together and keeping together an independent company and I'd like to thank all the people who helped me - I particularly want to share this award with Protein Dance's co-founder, Bettina Strickler with whom I started Protein at The Place in 1997.  This award is fantastic - thank you".

The award comes at the start of a busy week for Protein as the company begins its 2012 tour of its critically acclaimed production LOL (lots of love) at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre this Friday. Full tour info is available at www.lollotsoflove.net

Congratulations to Luca from all the DanceXchange team!
