News Choreographer wanted for Wriggle Dance Theatre

Wriggle Dance Theatre are currently looking for a choreographer to work with them for three days as part of their research and professional development during phase one of the project, Creating Dance Performance for young children.

Creating Dance Performance for Young Children (aged 3-6)

Wriggle Dance Theatre is a new and ambitious professional company specialising in dance performance for children.
They have recently been awarded funding from Arts Council England to undertake a two phase project of research and development in order to create a high quality, interactive dance performance, and investigate opportunities for imaginative participation for children and their families.
Wriggle is looking for a choreographer to work with the company for three days during Phase One of the project, studio research.

Experience needed
Essential
• A real interest in making work for young children
• Experience in choreographing work for professional performance
• A desire to make work that is both quirky, accessible and has comic potential
• An interest in working across artistic disciplines with potential to explore working with narrative
• The ability and desire to work collaboratively
Desirable
• Experience in choreographing dance performance for young children
• A background in performance and a reputation for innovative choreography

Availability
The choreographer would be required to work with the company for three days between 2nd and 16th January 2012 (exact dates to be negotiated)

Fee
£750 inclusive of all expenses
