News Audition Notice: Rosie Kay Dance Company

Rosie Kay Dance Company is looking for 5 multi-talented, versatile performers for their new production, There is Hope.

There is Hope explores faith, belief, ritual and the confines and claustrophobia with 5 incredible performers and 3 musicians as they journey to hell and back. Literally.

Expect humour, black comedy, athletic performance, bold live music and in true Rosie Kay Dance Company style, some unexpected and incredible moments of dance and theatre.

Criteria: Performers must have a background of professional dance training, a strong presence on stage, robust physical strength and stamina and good improvisational technique. Acting and singing skills would be useful but not a must.

Due to the themes of the production, interested candidates must have a willingness to delve deeply into personal beliefs as well as a fearless approach to making new and challenging work.

Location:  London or Birmingham, tbc

DATES AND FEES INFORMATION

Creation / production period: 13th August- 2nd October 2012, DanceXchange, Birmingham

Premiere:  3/4 October 2012, The Patrick Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome

Touring:  October/November 2012 & March/April 2013 approx. (exact dates tbc)

Fees and expenses:  £375p/w creation + £162.50 p/w relocation allowance + travel // £175 per performance + travel/shared accommodation

Please note that the production will be created at DanceXchange studios in Birmingham and performers must be willing to relocate for the creation and production period.
