DanceXchange is working with Youth Dance England to deliver a new national brief to increase participation in dance for young people. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work at a senior strategic level to develop youth dance in the West Midlands region, broker new partnerships with the sports and health sectors and access new funding streams.

Successful candidates must have three years’ arts management/administration experience, the ability to plan strategically, a high level of literacy, excellent negotiation skills, and an enthusiasm for youth dance.

Salary: 28k-30k per annum

1. DanceXchange, the National Dance Agency for Birmingham and the West Midlands, is currently looking to recruit tutors for the following weekly classes between September 14 – December 6 2008 (inclusive);

Physical Theatre: Fridays 5.00-6.00pm (teens open level)
Fridays 6.00-7.15pm (adults open level)

Contemporary: Thursdays 5.00-6.00pm (teens advanced)   Saturdays 1.15-2.15pm (teens improvers)

Kathak: Fridays 7.15-8.30pm (16yrs+ open level)

Bharatanatyam: Saturdays 6.00-7.15pm (16yrs+ open level)

The rate of pay for the above contracts is £25 p/hr

2. Xtract Dance is DanceXchange’s advanced (adult) performance and development group, aimed at giving an insight into the workings of a professional dance company. It is open to 3rd year dance vocational students and professional dance artists, who sign up for a term or longer.

DanceXchange is looking to recruit an experienced dance artist / choreographer to work with Xtract Dance over the Autumn 08 term to create a new piece. Ideally, candidates will teach Advanced Adult Contemporary in addition to the Xtract sessions.

Advanced Contemporary: Thursdays 6.15-7.30pm
Xtract Dance: Thursdays 7.30-9.30pm

The rate of pay for the above contract is £30 p/hr

3. Reflex is dx’s own youth dance group, and meets every Saturday during term time (2.30-5.00pm). Students sign up for a year (Sept-July).

DanceXchange is looking to recruit an experienced dance artist / choreographer to work with Reflex Youth Dance over the Autumn 08 term to create a new piece.

The rate of pay for the above contract is £30 p/hr

DanceXchange, the National Dance Agency for Birmingham and the West Midlands, is currently looking to recruit an experienced street dance artist / choreographer for a 12 week project over the Autumn 08 term.

Sessions will take place every Saturday, 5.00-6.30pm from Saturday 21 September to Saturday 6 December (inclusive). Participants will sign up for the whole term, and it is open to anyone aged 16 and over with any amount of dance experience.

The successful applicant will be expected to create a piece, which will be showcased in an informal sharing at the end of the term to an invited audience of family and friends.

The rate of pay for the above contract is £30 p/hr
