I’ve always had an interest in the arts, studying music since an early age, but naturally always thought that I’d grow up to be an astronaut or something equally as exciting! When I did start to grow up (and many argue that I’ve a lot left to do in that area!) and realised that I needed to give my future some serious consideration, I turned my attention to more scientific endeavours, working towards a degree in physical geography. I ultimately decided that this wasn’t for me, and took an extended leave of absence. After leaving university, whilst trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up, I amassed quite a lot of experience in customer service, and developed an interest in dance on the side. I was excited to see the Class Coordinator role advertised a little over 3 years ago, and decided that this would be the perfect chance for me to combine my interest in the arts with the experience I had.
My role as Class Coordinator is an exciting one; I love being involved in the day to day running of the classes, working with our terrific team of tutors, and also getting the chance to manage our youth dance company, refleX. I feel like I have accomplished a lot in the short time I’ve been here, but will continue to strive to make the class programme the best it can possibly be.
Since joining the DanceXchange family, I’ve seen a lot, learned a lot and my interest in dance just keeps on growing. I’m really excited to get back to business in 2011, with loads of exciting opportunities coming up, and more fantastic dance to watch!
